The Office of the Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs, in conjunction with the University Committee on Appointments, Promotions, and Tenure, organizes workshops throughout the year to provide guidance and transparency about the dossier preparation process.

UCAPT Tenure-Track Faculty Workshop – Late October 2024
This workshop will explain the tenure decision process and the development of the dossier, including the responsibilities of junior faculty members and their role in their school and/or department. It will also address expectations for achieving tenure and promotion with regard to scholarship, grants, teaching, creative work, and other scholarly, artistic, and educational endeavors. Current leadership of the University Committee on Appointments, Promotions, and Tenure (UCAPT) will moderate the workshop, which will feature a panel of recently tenured faculty from different disciplines, and all will answer questions.
UCAPT Associate to Full Professor Faculty Workshop – Late January 2025
This workshop will explain the promotion decision process and the development of the dossier, including the responsibilities of senior faculty members and the growth of their role in their school and/or department over time. It will also address expectations for achieving promotion with regard to scholarship, grants, teaching, creative work, and other scholarly, artistic, and educational endeavors, along with the mentorship and service aspects typically seen in cases for Full. Current leadership of the University Committee on Appointments, Promotions, and Tenure (UCAPT) will moderate the workshop, which will feature a panel of recently promoted faculty from different disciplines, and all will answer questions.
