Recognition as a mentor is a great honor, yet it brings an immense sense of responsibility. I have learned from my own mentors that teaching is a great honor, privilege, and responsibility that one should not take lightly. As a teacher, I strive that my interactions with students to be a mutual collaborative effort to spark their inner interest in mastering the subject matter, to reveal and nourish their talents, and to advance them to be true professionals and leaders.

It is a humbling and rewarding experience to observe their personal and professional growth and to witness their success in developing professional self-confidence and to become future mentors and leaders. I cannot better explain this feeling of achievement than to quote great leaders such as Sir Winston Churchill who said, “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give ” and Mahatma Gandhi who said, “ You must be the change you want to see in the world”. My great appreciation goes to all the individuals who have honored the value of mentorship.
