Mentorship has been an important part of my career and my development as a teacher, clinician and person. I have been fortunate to have several people take an interest in my career and push me places I could never have gone on my own. The mentorship that I have received is at the heart of any and all success that I have achieved.
Having the opportunity to now mentor students and postdoctoral scholars is an extremely important and satisfying part of what I do. I am privileged to have a career where I get to mentor students and postdoctoral scholars, helping them to realize their enormous potential, set career goals, make plans to reach them and then help them to reach even higher. Watching them achieve their vast success and knowing that I played some small part is an incomparable feeling that mentorship brings.
